Mobians classify the various intelligent species that evolved within the [[Mobius System]] into two major categories: the Oldfangled and the Vogue. The Oldfangled species evolved on the planet of Mobius itself, and are typically much older cultures, having existed for around 500,000 to a million years. The Vogue species evolved on Mobius' moons, and are generally younger cultures, having evolved somewhere in the last 100,000-200,000 years. There are also two species of aliens living in the [[Mobius System]] that originated elsewhere in space—the [[Pyber]] and the [[Szekeres]]. # Oldfangled The Oldfangled were the first intelligent people to evolve in the [[Mobius System]], and dominated the planet of Mobius for hundreds of thousands of years, building massive civilizations that covered the planet. Although some diversity existed even in these older Oldfangled civilizations, they tended to be much more culturally homogenous than present-day Mobian societies. Then, approximately 50,000 years ago during a period known as The Undoing, virtually all of the major Oldfangled civilizations existing at the time collapsed and fell into ruin and disrepair, with most of their cities and structures being reclaimed by nature. This led to a great cultural upheaval as well mass migration between Mobius and its moons while civilization rebuilt itself on Mobius. The current post-Undoing civilizations that now occupy Mobius are far more diverse than those that predated the Undoing, containing a mix of Oldfangled, Vogue, and Aliens. Nevertheless, owing to their great age and historical roots on the planet, the Oldfangled tend to be the majority cultures in most regions of the planet of Mobius itself. ## Grue *Main article*: [[Grue]] *D&D Species Basis:* [Gnome](https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/phb-2024/character-origins#Gnome) Grue are an ancient folk known for their love of invention, illusions, and life among nature.
