"Simis" is also used to refer to "Great Wroshyr," the singular, gargantuan tree that composes the moon and is venerated as a [[Csorgo]] and [[Erdos]] deity of life, nature, community, and festus. > [!Table of Contents]+ > 1. [[#Worldbuilding References]] # Moon The forest moon of Simis is composed of a single, gigantic living tree known as "Great Wroshyr," which grows outward in all directions from its core. As you approach Simis, you realize that what appeared from afar to be its lush, green surface is in fact the top canopy of a seemingly bottomless forest of trunks and branches. Wroshyr trees, a species of giant, long-lived, cone-bearing trees, are native to [[Mobius]]. Wroshyr trees live up to 50,000 years and form seed-bearing cones every 100 years. According to legend, many thousands of years ago the oldest and largest wroshyr tree on [[Mobius]] grew so tall that its upper branches reached into space and one of its cones detached and floated away. This cone eventually sprouted and, thanks to the lack of gravity in space, grew outwards in every direction and became a single, massive, spherical moon comprised entirely of the branches of a single, gargantuan tree. On Simis, entire [[Csorgo]] communities live within the trunks in towns and cities built on platforms resting upon the interlocked branches of the forest. The [[Erdos]], by contrast, live in hollowed-out homes inside the great trunks, deep within the inner heart of the moon. # Deity Among those that venerate Great Wroshyr, there is little distinction at all between the tree-moon and the deity itself. Great Wroshyr is the god of forests and of birds, acting as a guardian over all the life that inhabit its branches. Forest spirits sent by Great Wroshyr are said to be found in each forest in the [[Mobius System]], watching over the animals, birds, trees, and berries. Great Wroshyr is a source of life-sustaining energy, collecting the light of the suns and converting it into its very leaves, branches, and berries that, in turn, give life to all that inhabit the forest. The intertwined branches of Great Wroshyr are said to represent the ties of family and friendship, the ties to ancestors, as well as the ties between elders and the next generation with whom they share their wisdom. Followers of Great Wroshyr enjoy the free sharing of food and drink, teaching that we must share what we have as Great Wroshyr shares with us. They value a good meal as much as they do the joy of sharing it with friends. An ancient [[Csorgo]] parable states that "a good feast can be enough to settle most wars." # Worldbuilding References **Simis (moon)**: [Kashyyk (Star Wars)](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Kashyyyk); [Wroshyr tree (Star Wars)](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Wroshyr_tree) **Great Wroshyr (deity):** [Tāne (Maori god of forests and birds)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C4%81ne); [Metsaema (Estonian mother spirit of the forest)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metsaema)
