The moon is considered a paradise, created by the Edelves—a mystical race of elemental fairies who are collectively regarded as a deity. Edena is covered in lush forests and gardens, and inhabited by the [[Pixie]] and the [[Aardal]], both said to be created by (or descended from) the Edelves themselves. Viana is also where the [[Aanderaa]] are created by the Edelves to be sent out into the universe to fulfil certain tasks. ![[Viana_moon.jpg|left|150]] Life on Viana is truly paradise. The plants provide an endless abundance of delicious food. Every body of water is perfectly clean and refreshing. All of the wildlife is friendly and vegetarian, never posing a danger to anyone. The weather on Viana is always consistent and comfortable. While on Viana, living creatures find themselves feeling rejuvenated—wounds and illnesses healing naturally and rapidly. Aging is slowed nearly to a crawl. Among many people in the [[Mobius System]], Viana is spoken of as a sort of heaven, with some even believing that the souls of the most virtuous dead travel there to live among the Edelves, inhabiting the dreams of the living. But life on Viana is not viewed as a paradise by all. The native [[Aardal]] and [[Pixie]] are among the most frequent emigrants from their home world of all species in the system. If questioned about it, most claim that this is because they simply want to see the system before someday returning home. But a few have admitted to a somewhat darker truth—that a world with no challenge, danger, or obstacles becomes unbearably boring. Those who remain on Viana eventually tire of its pleasures, and spend a greater and greater proportion of their time asleep, seeking new experiences in their dreams. Individuals who have left Viana have also described their time there as feeling unsatisfyingly artificial and having the somewhat disconcerting quality of a dream where the details are never actually quite right when examined in retrospect. # Deity The Edelves, also known as the Elementals or the Fairies of Edena, are a collective of countless elemental spirits who are said to come from the stars. They belong to the nonmaterial world, and come and go as they please on the "Interplane" between worlds. It is said that the Edelves are responsible for dreams—creating the magical, ephemeral worlds that creatures inhabit temporarily while they dream.
