Waymasters (WEIGH-mass-turs) are mysterious ancient inhabitants of Mobius. They are sentient vehicles that drive endlessly through a vast network of roads on the planet.

# Appearance
# Traits and Abilities
**Armored Casing.** Waymasters are encased in thin metal or some other durable material. While they aren’t wearing armor, their base Armor Class is 13 + their Dexterity modifier.
**Built for Success.** Waymasters can add a d4 to one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw they make, and they can do so after seeing the d20 roll but before the effects of the roll are resolved. They can use this trait a number of times equal to their proficiency bonus, and they regain all expended uses when they finish a long rest.
**Healing Machine.** If the *mending* spell is cast on a Waymaster, they can spend a Hit Die, roll it, and regain a number of hit points equal to the roll plus their Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 hit point). In addition, Waymasters can benefit from several spells that preserve life but that normally don’t affect Constructs: *cure wounds, healing word, mass cure wounds, mass healing word, and spare the dying.*
**Mechanical Nature.** Waymasters have resistance to poison damage and immunity to disease, and they have advantage on saving throws against being paralyzed or poisoned. They don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
**Sentry’s Rest.** When Waymasters take a long rest, they spend at least 6 hours in an inactive, motionless state, instead of sleeping. In this state, they appear inert, but remain conscious.
# History
Some historians theorize that the Waymasters were originally constructed by one of the other Oldfangled species. Others believe they are an alien species that arrived at some point in Mobius' distant past. Due to the Waymasters' largely nomadic lifestyle, they do not have extensive historical records nor structures of archeological significance that would enable historians to answer the question definitively.
# Society
A core belief in Waymaster culture is the idea of contributing one's own parts after death to the next generation.
